HOW Jonquil Housing

Housing Opportunities for Women is a community based non-profit supportive housing provider in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. This existing 3-story masonry building accommodates 25 affordable and market rate units. The rehabilitation meets Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) and Class 9 requirements and includes extensive exterior work as well as selected interior work. A new accessible route to an accessible ground floor unit, rental office and laundry and features to provide increased safety for the tenants are incorporated into the cost effective design. A myriad of volunteer work days and spirited involvement by Americorps and Cityyear youth have helped made this effort possible.
